- Entomology and Acarology:

Insect physiology and molecular biology. Insect juvenile hormone regulation and role in insect reproduction. Digestive system structure, function and gene expression in response to feeding. The role of tick synganglion, hormones and neuropeptides in tick reproduction and metamorphosis. Tick major storage proteins.

- Biotechnology and Molecular Biology:

DNA and RNA isolation, Gene silencing using RNAi, Gene cloning, PCR techniques, Nucleic acid hybridization. Next generation sequencing such as Roche 454 and illumine sequencing. Bioinformatics: creating and managing sequence databases. Using sequence analysis software such as NCBI tool kit, Vector NTI and others.

- Cell culture and protein expression;

Insect cell lines (SF9, High five, DM cells). Protein expression in bacterial and insect cells using different expression systems (stable transformation andBaculovirus expression). Purification and detection of proteins.

- Protein stabilization and delivery into insect bodies:

Enhancing protein stability and movement through insect gut and cuticle by chemical modification for the purpose of production of safe insecticides.
