Research Activities and Research Projects:
Through the long period of my work in research I have gained experience in tissue culture, molecular biology and serological techniques. The research projects of the M.Sc. and PhD aimed to the produce transgenic melon and watermelon plants harboring virus resistance genes. I have also gained the experience of micropropagation of several plants such as banana, potato, strawberry and some ornamentals. In addition, I have good experience in "in vitro" regeneration and transformation of cucurbits, tomato, faba bean and gerbera. The gene(s) responsible of defense induction in plant also is one of my interests.
