Bioinformatics in AGERI started by the efforts of:Dr. Ahmed Shokry (1971:2013)
The Department of Bioinformatics working on many scientific and research tasks, including the use of machine learning methods in order to promote the production of antibodies for diagnostic tools using epitope prediction methods, and to design immune peptides that can be injected in animals for the production of antibodies.
We also are designing simulation software for some biological experiments to determine the best ways to achieve their desired goal in terms of cost and time, using some computer programming languages.
Our department is also working on the design of some of the metabolic pathways for some important economic crops associated with some adverse environmental conditions and also some pathogens, which helps in understanding the nature of their impact on the plant and then find out the most appropriate and safest ways to resist.
The Department of Bioinformatics working on using Bioinformatics on Nanobiotechnolgy, Biophotonics and smart materials design and it's application on Agriculture research.
The Department of Bioinformatics and computer networks contributes on Molecular Computing and Finite state machines implementation using DNA Techniques in cooperation with Computer Science & Engineering Department, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Menoufiya University, Menouf, Egypt.
Bioinformatics Department offers technical support and training courses in many levels:
